Commemorating the 60^th anniversary of sisterhood between the cities of Nishinomiya and Spokane.

西宮市とアメリカのスポケーン市が姉妹都市提携をして2021年で60周年を迎えたのを記念し、本学の学生たちが出演する番組が西宮市の「フロムにしのみや」（ケーブルテレビベイコム11チャンネル）で24日から放送されます。日本語日本文学科平田ゼミ（平田光彦准教授）の学生と、書道部、箏曲部の部員、有志学生らが出演。万葉集の歌を揮毫する書道パフォーマンスに、和楽器による演奏、日本庭園、ストリートダンスの要素を加え、両市の交流が今後も続いていく未来を表現しました。

 

学生たちは授業終了後に集まって練習するなどゼミ、クラブの垣根を超えて協力し、昨年末、中央キャンパスでの収録に臨みました。書道パフォーマンスを披露した日本語日本文学科４年　原琴名さんは「限られた時間の中で、1つの書作品を制作する大変さを実感しました。収録ではお祝いの気持ちを届けられるようパフォーマンスをし、全員が一心同体となって達成感と喜びを味わうことができました」と話していました。

　新しい年（61年目）を迎えた新春の今日ふる雪のように、（今後の交流にも）良いことが重なっていきますように。

 

 

To honor the 60^th anniversary of the city tie-up between Nishinomiya city and Spokane city in the United States in 2021, some students from MWU will star in Nishinomiya city’s “From Nishinomiya” program. It is to be on air from the 24^{th of} January.  

 

Members from the calligraphy club, the koto club, students who volunteered and the students from the Department of Japanese Language and Literature’s Hirata Seminar (Associate Professor Mitsuhiko Hirata) will appear in the program. In order to express the long lasting exchanges between the two cities to remain, Japanese musical instrument, Japanese gardens and street dance will be performed.

 

The students joined forces to cooperate and practiced hard towards the recording of their performance at the end of last year. Kotona Hara, a 4^th year student in the Department of Japanese Language and Literature who showcases her performance in calligraphy, said, “I realized how challenging it is to create one piece of work in a limited amount of time.”
