武庫川女子大学栄養科学研究所は、自家製野菜で共食・食事支援事業として「さつまいも料理・親子食育教室」を開催しました。
10月22日、西宮市広田地区の子どもたちや本学食物栄養学科の学生たちと一緒に、広田地区社会福祉協議会の方々の協力のもと、栄養科学研究所の畑で育てている、さつまいも、大根の間引き菜、柿を収穫しました。
11月26日には本学西宮北口キャンパスで、西宮市保健所と広田地区社会福祉協議会の方々の協力のもと、「さつまいも料理・親子食育教室」を開催し、子どもたちが収穫したさつまいもを使って、「さつまいもぼうる」と「さつまいもチップス」を作りました。
子どもたちは保護者や学生のサポートを受けながら、自分で調理を行い、出来上がった「さつまいもぼうる」はそのまま食べたり、ホイップやきな粉などをトッピングして食べたり、それぞれ自分好みの味つけをして楽しんでいました。
子どもたちは、「さつまいもぼうるも、さつまいもチップスも作り方が簡単で楽しかったです」「家で作ってみたいなと思いました」などと話し喜んでいました。
調理実習後は、さつまいも掘りの様子を動画で鑑賞し、子どもたちは食育クイズ、保護者は身体計測を行いました。
保護者からは、「自分自身の身体について知る良い機会になりました」と声が寄せられ、健康について興味を持っていただいたようです。
栄養科学研究所の話
「自分が収穫したさつまいもを自分で料理する体験を通して、子どもたちに今まで以上に『食』について、興味を持ってもらえたらうれしく思います。今後も、西宮北口キャンパスにおいて、地域の方の健康増進にかかわるイベントや、地域の方と交流を深められるイベントを実施していきたいと考えています」
On October 22, children from the Hirota area of Nishinomiya City and students from the University's Department of Food Sciences and Nutrition, together with the cooperation of the Hirota Area Social Welfare Council, harvested sweet potatoes, thinned radish greens, and persimmons growing in the fields of the Research Institute for Nutrition Sciences.
A "sweet potato cooking and parent-child nutrition education class" was held at the university's Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi campus on November 26, with the cooperation of the Nishinomiya city Public Health Center and the Hirota District Social Welfare Council, where children made "sweet potato bowls" and "sweet potato chips" using the sweet potatoes they harvested.
According to a spokesperson for The Research Institute for Nutrition Sciences, “We hope that the experience of cooking sweet potatoes harvested by the children themselves will make them more interested in food than ever before. We would like to continue to hold events at the Nishinomiya Kitaguchi Campus to promote the health of the local community and to deepen relations with local residents.”
