Donations to Ukraine collected by student volunteers.
Raising funds to help people of Ukraine is an initiative by the students of the Brown Rice volunteer committee which monitors SDGs related issues at Mukogawa Women’s University. On April 13th, the students sporting orange t-shirts were seen calling out for donations near the Naruo/Mukogawa Women’s University station.
The committee’s desire to help came to light with the call of the United Nations WFP who are known providers of emergency assistance to Ukraine. Donation boxes have been placed in various locations around the main campus.
The students will be collecting donations at the Naruo/Mukogawa Women’s University until April 14th. The donation boxes will be set until April 28th.
Brown Rice is a team of students promoting the use of brown rice and offering an option of brown rice meal at the campus cafeterias. Upon purchasing, 10% of the sales will then be donated to the United Nations WFP Association to help the “school lunch program” in developing countries.

Making of “2021 PBL Achievement” booklet by the Department of Business Administration.
The Department of Business Administration at Mukogawa Women’s University has recently published the recordings of their Project Based Learning (PBL) results which contains an overview of 67 projects of the practical learning assessments conducted in the year 2021.
Project Based Learning is a program unique to the Department of Business Administration, and is a compulsory class that is conducted to developing problem solving and practical skills. The project is participated by students in the second half of the first grade to the first half of the fourth grades. The course offers to provide an off-campus experiences as well as on-campus learning, enabling students of all age groups to broaden their horizons and grow by practical experience.

The entrance ceremony for this fiscal year welcomed 2563 students starting a new chapter at Mukogawa Women’s University.
The entrance ceremony of Mukogawa Women’s University and the junior college was held at main campus at Koe Memorial Hall on April 4th. With the two combined, MWU welcomed 2563 students to the family. With the restrictions of the spread of Coronavirus disease, the ceremony saw the hall filled with students while their guardians were given a permitted live air stream online.
The university opening ceremonies will be conducted in 4 sittings, in the course of 2 days. With large number of departments Mukogawa Women’s University has to offer, a selection of departments will have a joint ceremony in the morning or the afternoon.
“Declaration of admission” was stated by the president Seguchi as he welcomed the students at the opening ceremonies. Mr. Seguchi encouraged the students by announcing the students to “think wisely, act responsibly, and seek to play an active role not only within the confines of your surroundings but with an open mind to the roles you will play as women of the world.”

And so the new academic year begins.
The opening ceremony for administration staff and faculty members took place on April 1st, welcoming new faces to the family.
Joining the team is a combined number of 59 members of faculties for the university, facilitated junior and senior high school, kindergarten and administration departments in all of the above.
The chancellor, Mr. Okawara stated “as we welcome new faculty members and staff to the family, we also believe that this also brings a beginning of a vibrant new year. Let us continue working harmoniously in promoting research and education that will lead to ideal academic institution.”
The opening ceremony for the junior and senior high school will be held this Saturday, followed by the same for the university at the beginning of next week.

Mukogawa Women’s University's Graduation Ceremony.
A host of 1686 students were awarded with their diplomas at the graduation ceremony held at the Koe Memorial Hall on March 19th, 2022. With measures placed to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus, the graduates and faculty members were the only attendees in the auditorium. The role of arbitrators for this year’s graduation ceremony were given to student volunteers.
A long list of congratulations and diplomas were handed over to students from the head of university, Mr. Seguchi.
“This is day will be a memorable day in your lives that you’ll look back on in the future. Wherever life takes you, take on all encounters, conquer them and make it your asset.” said Mr. Seguchi.
As a graduate representative, Ms. Minami Doi, a graduate of the Department of English stated “No matter what, I will be true to myself and I will succeed and prosper in the future.”
Another graduate, speaking at the ceremony in the afternoon, Ms. Mayu Okumura, of Department of Education added “Everything I learned, in class and out, the daily struggles are what made me who I am and I will cherish them for life.”

The second semester started on September 16th 2020.
We conduct the classes with both distance learning and face-to-face learning this semester.
In face-to-face lessons, classes are held while taking measures against infectious diseases such as wearing masks, installing disinfectant solutions, ventilation, and seat intervals.
