茶道部が甲子園会館で新入生歓迎茶会を開催しました。

茶道部の新入生歓迎茶会が5月26日、活動場所の学院記念館から場所を移し、甲子園会館南園庭の茶室「自妙庵」で行われ、新入部員4人のうち3人が参加しました。

 

茶道部は週2回、学院記念館で新入生歓迎茶会や文化祭に向けて基本の作法や割稽古、お盆やお棚を使ったお点前をお稽古しています。月に2回、茶道の先生に教わりながらお稽古し、お茶会の場を設けることもあります。

 

晴天に恵まれたこの日、新入部員は床の間の掛け軸や花入れ、水差、茶杓などのお道具、お菓子の説明など受けた後、美しい日本庭園の景色を眺めながら甘いお菓子と温かい抹茶のおもてなしを受けました。

 

茶道部主将の学生は「新入生が習った作法通りにお菓子やお抹茶を食べていて、感心しました。何より、今回のお茶会に積極的に参加してくれたことがうれしかったです。来年以降の新入生歓迎茶会の参考になればいいなと思っています」と話しました。

 

茶道部は新入部員を迎え17人に。「おもてなしの心を大切にしながら和気あいあいとした雰囲気で活動しています。文化祭でもお茶会を開催しますので皆さまのお越しをお待ちしています」と呼び掛けています。

 

On 26th of May, the tea ceremony club held a welcome tea party for new students in the tea room ‘Jimyoan’ in the south garden of the Koshien Kaikan, moving from the Gakuin Memorial Hall, where the club's activities take place, with three of the four new members participating.

 

 The tea ceremony club practices basic manners, wari-geiko and odamae using trays and shelves twice a week at the school's memorial hall in preparation for the welcome tea ceremony for new students and the cultural festival. Twice a month, they practice under the guidance of a tea ceremony teacher and on some occasions hold a tea ceremony.

 

On this sunny day, the new club members were given an explanation of the alcove, flower vase, water jug, tea scoop and other utensils, as well as sweets, before being served sweet confectionery and hot matcha tea while enjoying the beautiful view of the Japanese garden.

 

The tea ceremony club leader said: ‘I was impressed by the way the freshmen ate the sweets and matcha tea in accordance with the manners they had learnt. Above all, I was happy that they actively participated in this tea ceremony. I hope this will serve as a reference for the welcome tea ceremony for new students next year and onwards’.

 

The tea ceremony club welcomed new members, bringing the total number of members to 17.
