「校祖の日」を前に公江喜市郎先生を偲ぶ冊子を公開します。

武庫川学院では創設者 公江喜市郎先生を偲び、学院の継承発展を誓うため、10月6日を「校祖の日」と定めています。
公江喜市郎先生は、兵庫県の主席視学だった1931年、欧米視察でイギリス・イートン校を訪れ、その全人教育に感銘を受けて私学経営を決意しました。1939年に武庫川学院を創設し、1949年には武庫川女子大学（当時、武庫川学院女子大学）を開設して今日の女子総合学園の礎を築きました。

公江先生は1981年9月6日に亡くなり、武庫川学院では学院葬を行った10月6日を「校祖の日」と定めています。

学院では毎年、この日に合わせて
・学院長・理事らによる学内行事（公江記念館1階校祖室）
・校祖の墓前参拝（満池谷墓地）
・学院関係物故者慰霊祭（甲山神呪寺境内にある学院慰霊塔前）
を執り行っており、今年度は諸行事を10月4日（金）に行います。

 

「校祖の日」を前に、多くの人に公江先生の歩みを知っていただきたく、公江先生を偲ぶ冊子（デジタル版）を公開します。

 

Mukogawa Gakuin has designated October 6 as “Founder’s Day” in memory of its founder, Mr. Kiichiro Koe, and to pledge the continuation and development of the institute.

In 1931, when he was the chief school inspector in Hyogo Prefecture, Mr. Koe visited Eton College in the U.K. on a tour of Europe and the U.S. He was so impressed with Eton's all-round education that he decided to open his own private school. In 1949, Mukogawa Women's University (then Mukogawa Gakuin Women's University) was established, laying the foundation for today's comprehensive school for women.

Dr. Koe passed away on September 6, 1981, and Mukogawa Gakuin designated October 6, the day of his funeral, as “Founder’s Day”.
