　武庫川女子大学甲子園会館は、「阪神間モダニズム」の時代を象徴する甲子園ホテルが前身です。昭和初期には世界各地からアーチストらが集い、サロンとしてにぎわいました。当時、ホテルのバンケットホールだった西ホールで20日、芦屋市出身のピアニスト妹尾武さんが、昭和前期に活躍した芦屋市ゆかりのバイオリニスト・貴志康一と、神戸市出身の作曲家・大澤壽人による曲を演奏しました。

 

　妹尾さんは、ゴスペラーズの「永遠に」などの作曲でも知られるピアニストです。この日は、琴や日本的なメロディーを感じさせる「ヴァイオリンソナタ」の演奏が始まると、阪神間モダニズムを彷彿とさせる時間が流れました。

　演奏は、兵庫県阪神南県民センターが明治末期から昭和初期にかけて地域に花開いた阪神間モダニズムの魅力を発信する動画作品の収録として行われました。

　音楽を妹尾武さん、ホテル・建築の解説を本学の三宅正弘准教授（生活環境学科）、案内役を本学生活環境学科で建築を学ぶ宮腰マリヤさん（4年）が務めました。3月末にYouTubeで公開されます。

　

Mukogawa Women’s University Koshien Kaikan is the predecessor of the Koshien Hotel, which back then symbolized the era of “Hanshinkan Modernism”. In the early Showa period, artists from all over the world gathered and had a lively congregation.

 

The pianist, Takeshi Senoo, a pianist from the city of Ashiya, performed a piece with a violinist Koichi Kishi, also from Asiya city.  They executed with a support from a composer Hisato Ozawa, at the West Hall on the 20^th of February.

 

Mr. Senoo is a pianist who is also known for composing songs for a Japanese gospel band. On the 20^th, a performance with the koto and Japanese melody was played that seemed to be a reminiscent of Hanshinkan modernism.

 

In the video, MWU’s Professor Masahiro Miyake of Department of Human Environmental Sciences is in charge of the commentary, while a 4^th year student Mariya Miyakoshi will guide and follow through as Mr. Senoo takes the lead musically.
