バトン・チアリーディング部「HONEY BEE」が創部30周年を迎え、12月3日、30回目の単独公演「Movement of HONEY BEE　THANKS」を公江記念講堂で開催しました。

1990年にバトントワーリング同好会として発足。1992年に部に昇格し、1993年にチーム名「HONEY BEE」を掲げて第1回単独公演を実施しました。2010年にバトントワーリング部からバトン・チアリーディング部となり、現在につながる歴史を重ねてきました。

 

30周年記念公演は1年～4年生の全17人による華やかなスタンツで幕開け。息を合わせてトップを飛ばしたり、3段に人を組み上げたりする大技を披露しました。第1部は地域の子どもたちやチアリーディングチームによるゲストステージ、HONEY BEE出身の卒業生７人による創作ダンスもあり、バラエティに富んだ構成で会場を沸かせました。第２部は「THANKS」をテーマにHONEY BEEのメンバーが、二人の少女の出会いと成長を描くストーリー仕立ての演技を繰り広げ、フィナーレは再びスタンツで締めくくりました。

 

単独公演は1年をかけて演目から構成まで自分たちで作り上げるHONEY BEEの集大成。4年生にとっては卒業公演となります。近年はコロナ禍で対面で練習できない時期もあり、外部公演の機会が減るなど、思うように演技ができない葛藤を抱えてきました。2022年度は学内外からの公演依頼も戻り、単独公演も通常に近い状態での開催が実現しました。

 

挨拶にたったチームリーダーの松田麗奈さん(日本語日本文学科3年）は「コロナ禍で悔しい思いもたくさんしましたが、4年生の背中を追いかけ、一緒に支えあった日々は宝物です。すべての支えてくれた人に感謝です」と語り、大きな拍手を浴びました。

 

The baton and cheerleading club "HONEY BEE" celebrated its 30th anniversary and held its 30th solo performance "Movement of HONEY BEE THANKS" on December 3 at Koe Memorial Auditorium. The baton twirling club was founded in 1990, and held its first solo performance in 1993 with the team name "Honey Bee." In 2010, the baton twirling club became the baton and cheerleading club, and has continued its building its legacy to this day.

 

The 30th anniversary performance opened with a spectacular stunt by all 17 students from all grades. They performed big tricks such as flying over the top in unison and assembling people into three tiers.

 

The solo performance is the culmination of Honey Bee's year-long effort to create everything from the program to its structure, and for the fourth-year students, it will be their graduation performance. In recent years, there have been times when they have not been able to practice in person due to the pandemic, which has reduced opportunities to perform outside the university, and to the public.

 

Team captain Rena Matsuda, a third-year student in the Department of Japanese Language and Literature, gave a speech, saying, "I faced a number of frustrating moments during the pandemic but I treasure the days when I trained with the senior fourth-year students and we supported each other. I am grateful to all the people who supported us."
