8月のオープンキャンパスが終了。2日間で5659人が参加しました。

武庫川女子大学の8月のオープンキャンパスが10．11日の両日、中央キャンパス、上甲子園キャンパス、浜甲子園キャンパスの3か所で行われ、2日間で2830組5659人が訪れました。

 

夏休み中の8月は例年、多くの来場者がありますが、今年はコロナ禍による制限解除もあって、オープニングセレモニーが行われた公江記念講堂は2階席まで満席になる盛況。2日間の来場者数はコロナ禍前の2019年同時期を上回りました。今年度から始まった教育系ユーチューバーの講演にも100人以上が集まりました。

 

学科プログラムでは模擬授業や体験コーナーなどに20学科の個性が際立つ趣向が見られました。とりわけ2024年4月に開設する歴史文化学科、2専攻制に進化する英語グローバル学科を擁する文学部は注目度が高く、それぞれの学科会場に向かう長い列ができました。

歴史文化学科では6000年前の縄文土器や石器時代の矢じり、6世紀ごろの須恵器などの実物を自由に触れる展示コーナーが人気を集めました。高校生たちは「本物？」と驚きながら、触れたり、持ち上げたりして、古代の手触りに感激した様子でした。英語グローバル学科では、両専攻で実施するアメリカ分校での4か月間の留学を豊富な画像で紹介し、「安心安全な環境で留学の一歩を踏み出すには最適」と高校生に呼びかけました。

 

健康・スポーツ科学部では、参加者への「ウェルカムパフォーマンス」として、体育館でバレーボール部の練習試合を公開。その試合から連想する内容を題材に、健康・スポーツ科学科とスポーツマネジメント学科それぞれの学びの特色を教員と学生が紹介しました。

 

看護学部看護学科では、高齢者のなりきり体験を実施。視野が狭く、聴力が落ちた状態をゴーグルとヘッドフォンで疑似的に作り出し、利き手と逆の手で大豆や小豆を摘まんだり、同伴の友人や親と会話をしたりして、高齢者の世界を体験しました。母親と来ていた高校1年生は「想像したより視野が狭くなって、思うような動作ができないのを感じました」と話していました。学生が実習時に着用するピンク色の実習衣を一足早く、試着できるコーナーも人気を集め、友だちとスマホで写真を撮りあう姿がみられました。

 

音楽学部では、在学生と一緒に合唱する体験ワークに高校生6人が参加し、岡本尚子教授の指導で演奏ホールに息の合った歌声を響かせました。

 

また、食物栄養科学部食創造科学科では、3年後期で実施するインターンシップの受け入れ企業を展示で紹介。約100社にのぼる受け入れ企業の充実したラインナップをチラシや商品、パネル等で「見える化」しました。

The August Open Campus is officially over, with 5,659 people attending during the two-day event.

 

Mukogawa Women's University held its August Open Campus on August 10 and 11 at the Central Campus, Kamikoshien Campus, and Hamakoshien Campus, with 2,830 groups and 5,659 people visiting over the two days.

The number of visitors over the two days exceeded that of the Open Campus in 2019 before the strike of the pandemic. More than 100 people also gathered for a lecture by an educational YouTube star.

In the departmental programs, mock classes and hands-on activities were held to highlight the distinctiveness of each of the 20 departments. In particular, the Department of History and Culture, which will launch in April 2024, and the Department of English and Global Studies, which will evolve into a dual major system, attracted a great deal of attention, and long queues formed to get to the respective departmental halls.

The Department of History and Culture's exhibit space, where visitors were able to freely hold up actual items such as 6,000-year-old Jomon earthenware, Stone Age arrowheads, and pottery dating back to the 6th century, was a popular attraction. The high school students were surprised and asked, "Are these real?" They seemed to be impressed by the ancient touch of the objects. The Department of English and Global Studies introduced the four-month study abroad program at the U.S. extension campus for both majors with abundant images, encouraging high school students to "take the first step toward studying abroad in a safe and secure environment."

As a "welcome performance" to the participants, the Health and Sports Science Department opened a practice game for the volleyball team in the gymnasium. Using the content associated with that game as a subject, faculty and students introduced the characteristics of the studies in each of the Departments of Health and Sports Science and Sports Management.

The Department of Nursing in the Faculty of Nursing conducted an experiment of pretending to be an elderly person. Using goggles and headphones to simulate a person with a narrow field of vision and impaired hearing, the students experienced the world of the elderly by picking soybeans and azuki beans with their opposite hands and conversing with their friends and parents. A first-year high school student who came with her mother said, "I felt that my field of vision was limited than I had imagined and that I could not perform the movements I wanted." A booth where visitors could try on the pink lab coats that students wear during practical training was also popular, and some visitors took pictures with their friends on their smartphones.

 At the School of Music, six high school students participated in a hands-on choral work experience with the university students, and under the guidance of Professor Naoko Okamoto, they sang in unison in the performance hall.

In addition, the Department of Food Creation Science in the Faculty of Food and Nutritional Sciences presented an exhibition of companies that accept interns in the second semester of their junior year. The extensive lineup of approximately 100 companies that accepted students was "visualized" with flyers, products, panels, and other materials.
