令和6年度短期大学部の卒業式が行われました。

武庫川女子大学短期大学部の令和6年度卒業式が21日、公江記念講堂で行われ、日本語文化学科、英語キャリア・コミュニケーション学科、幼児教育学科、食生活学科、生活造形学科の5学科184人が卒業証書を授与されました。

 

瀬口和義学長は式辞で「皆さんは1950年開学の歴史ある武庫川女子大学短期大学部の卒業生として社会に飛び立ちます。卒業後も心のアンテナを瑞々しく保ち、未知なるものにわくわくし、考え、挑み、個性ある花を咲かせてください」と激励しました。

 

卒業生で作る同窓会組織「鳴松会」の永田隆子幹事長は「鳴松会員は国内外の61支部で親睦を深め、母校の発展に貢献しています。毎年5月第4日曜日の鳴松会の日には、ぜひクラスやクラブの友人たちと母校に帰ってきてください」と呼び掛けました。

 

在学生総代の幼児教育学科1年 西村碧唯さんは「先輩方には、学生生活に関するいろんなことを丁寧に教えていただきました。委員会活動などで意見を出し合い、体育祭や文化祭を作り上げていくひたむきな姿勢に感服いたしました。すてきな仲間や素晴らしい経験を糧に、鮮やかな未来を切り拓いてください」と送辞を贈りました。

 

卒業生総代の英語キャリア・コミュニケーション学科 塩谷華梨さんは「アメリカ分校への留学では現地の文化を肌で感じ、大きく成長できた2年間でした。専門領域の課題ではくじけそうになったこともありましたが、共に励まし合った仲間の応援や、先生のご指導のおかげで乗り越えることができました。進学や就職と道は様々ですが、どんな困難な道でも切り拓いていきます」と力強く語りました。

 

卒業生たちは式後、それぞれのクラスに分かれてホームルームを開き、学生時代最後の時間をかみしめました。

 

短期大学部は2025年から全学科で募集を停止しており、次学年のいない日本語文化学科、英語キャリア・コミュニケーション学科は最後の卒業式となりました。

 

3日間の卒業式、修了式を通して、キャンパス内には在学生の企画チームがバルーンアートやフラワーウォールなどのフォトスポットを各所に設置。卒業式後、袴姿に着替えて謝恩会に参加するという学生や、日を改めて袴姿に着替え、家族や友人、後輩たちと写真撮影する姿も多く見られました。一昨日卒業式を終えた薬学部の卒業生たちは「今日は袴姿で写真を撮るために大学に来ました。天気も良くて写真を撮るのが楽しみです」と話していました。

 

The 2024 graduation ceremony of Mukogawa Women's University Junior College was held on the 21st at Koe Memorial Hall, where 184 students from five departments – Japanese Language and Culture, Careers in English Communication, Early Childhood Education, Dietary Life and Food Sciences, and Fashion and Living Design – were awarded their diplomas.

 

President Kazuyoshi Seguchi encouraged the graduates in his commencement address, saying, "You are now embarking on your journey into society as graduates of the historic Mukogawa Women's University Junior College, which was founded in 1950. Even after graduation, please stay intuitive, be excited by the unknown, think, discover, and cultivate your individuality."

 

Takako Nagata, Secretary-General of the alumni association "Meishokukai," addressed the graduates, saying, "Meishokukai members deepen friendships in 61 branches both domestically and internationally, and contribute to the development of our alma mater. Please come back to the University with your classmates and club friends on the Meishokukai Day, which is the fourth Sunday of every May."

 

Aoi Nishimura, a first-year student in the Early Childhood Education Department and representative of the current students, offered a farewell address, saying, "The seniors kindly taught us so many things about student life. I was impressed by their sincere attitude in expressing opinions in committee activities and making the sports festival and cultural festival as great as they are today. Please make use of your wonderful friends and experiences as nourishment to carve out a bright future."

 

Karin Shiotani, a graduate of the English Career Communication Department and representative of the graduates, spoke powerfully, saying, "My study abroad experience at the American branch school allowed me to experience the local culture firsthand, and I grew significantly as a person in those two years. There were times when I felt like giving up on assignments in my specialized field, but I was able to overcome them thanks to the support of my friends who encouraged each other and the guidance of my teachers. Although our paths may vary, whether it be further education or employment, we will forge our own way."

 

The junior college is ceasing admissions for all departments from 2025, and this graduation ceremony was the last for the Japanese Language and Culture Department and the Career in English Communication Department, as they will not have any more graduating classes.

 

Throughout the three-day graduation and completion ceremonies, a planning team of current students set up photo spots with balloon art and flower walls in various locations on campus. Many students changed into hakama (traditional Japanese formal wear) after the graduation ceremony to attend the farewell party, and others changed into hakama on a different day to take photos with their families, friends, and juniors. Pharmacy graduates who had their graduation ceremony the day before said, "We came to the University today to take photos in hakama. The weather is really nice, so we are looking forward to taking pictures."
