2026年1月5日、日本語日本文学科で日本語教員養成課程関連の科目を履修する学生と、本学公認ボランティア「Club IEO」の学生合わせて25人が、アジア、アフリカ、ヨーロッパ、中米の16か国の若手外交官・公務員をゲストに迎えて、本学にて日本語による交流会を行いました。
各国若手外交官・公務員は、昨年10月に来日し、5月まで大阪府泉南郡の国際交流基金関西国際センターでの日本語研修に参加しています。交流会ではグループに分かれて、まず外交官・公務員の出身国の紹介を聞きました。学生は平易な日本語や英語、ジェスチャーを交えて質問をしていました。またお互いにスマホの画像を使いながら、有名な食べものや観光地、好きな音楽など、さまざまな話題について話しました。
次に文化活動として、百人一首絵札での「坊主めくり」ゲームや、福笑いや剣玉、駒回しなどの伝統的な遊び、ボードゲームなどを行いました。書道では、各国外交官・公務員は、学生のサポートを受けながら、葉書や団扇に自分の名前や好きな漢字を小筆で書きました。
最後にナミビア出身のンダペワさんが、代表として、日本語と英語で感謝のスピーチを行ってくださいました。笑顔のあふれる、充実した交流会となりました。
文学部 日本語日本文学科では、国際交流基金関西国際センターで日本語研修に参加する各国外交官・公務員研修参加者を本学に迎え、毎年交流会を開催しています。
On January 5, 25 students from the Department of Japanese Language and Literature, including those enrolled in Japanese language teacher training courses, and members of the university's official volunteer group, Club IEO, hosted a Japanese-language networking event at our university. They welcomed young diplomats and civil servants from 16 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and Central America.
The young diplomats and civil servants from each country visited Japan in October of last year and are currently participating in Japanese language training at the Japan Foundation Kansai Japanese-Language Institute in Sennan-gun, Osaka Prefecture, until May. The event began with participants splitting into groups and listening to introductions from the diplomats and civil servants' home countries. Students asked questions in simple Japanese and English, often using gestures. Using smartphone images, the participants also discussed a variety of topics, including famous foods, tourist spots, and favorite music.
The event then continued with cultural activities, including a "Bozu Mekuri" game using Hyakunin Isshu picture cards, traditional games like Fukuwarai, Kendama, and Komamawashi, as well as board games. In the calligraphy session, the diplomats and civil servants from each country wrote their names and favorite kanji characters with a small brush on postcards and fans, with the support of students.
Finally, Ndapewa from Namibia gave a speech of thanks in both Japanese and English on behalf of the group. It was a fulfilling event filled with smiles.
The Department of Japanese Language and Literature, Faculty of Letters, hosts an annual exchange event, welcoming diplomats and civil servants from each country who are taking part in Japanese language training at the Japan Foundation Kansai Japanese-Language Institute.
