＜日本語/English＞本学体操部の杉原愛子選手が東京オリンピックの日本代表選手に内定しました。

MWU's gymnast Ms. Aiko Sugihara to the Tokyo Olympics!

 

　東京オリンピック代表選考大会となる「第60回NHK杯体操」の女子競技が5月15日、長野市のビックハットで行われ、本学体操部の杉原愛子選手は素晴らしい演技を見せて4位に入り、「第32回オリンピック東京大会」の日本代表選手（4名）に内定しました。

 

　杉原選手の五輪代表入りは、リオデジャネイロ五輪に続き2大会連続となります。NHK杯体操では上位3位には及びませんでしたが、チーム貢献度をみる代表選考の規定により代表に選ばれました。　

 

　杉原選手は内定決定後、「これまでたくさんの人たちに支えられて得られた代表入りなので、感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。東京オリンピックでは、みんなで協力してメダル獲得を目指します」と話しました。

 

May 15^th 2021 marked a day to remember for the future Olympian, Ms. Aiko Sugihara as she secured herself a position with her fabulous performance. She was chosen as one of 4 representative of Japan’s team at the 60^th NHK Gymnastics Representative Tournament.

 

This will mark the second time for her to be selected as a representative since the Rio Olympics in 2016. After the announcement of representatives, Ms. Sugihara stated “I can’t thank enough to all those who have supported me throughout my career. With my team mates, we will work hard and aim to get a medal at the Tokyo Olympics.” Good luck, Aiko!
