Presenting the report of analysis on the fourth wave of Covid-19 infection to the mayor of Nishinomiya city.

武庫川女子大学看護学部の教員4人が、「西宮市保健所　新型コロナウイルス感染症第4波検証」に協力。同保健所が把握する全陽性者のデータを分析し、8月2日に石井登志郎・西宮市長らに報告しました。

 

協力したのは看護学部の寶田穂学科長、和泉京子教授、徳重あつ子教授、金谷志子准教授の4人。西宮市ではこれまでに4度、感染拡大の波があり、現在は第5波が到来しています。武庫川女子大学では第4波がピークを迎えた今年５月から、感染者の急増でひっ迫する西宮市保健所の業務を支援するため、看護学部の教員らが西宮市保健所に出向き、自宅療養者の健康調査などを行ってきました。第4波がひと段落した今年6月、同保健所の対応をより深く検証し、次の感染再拡大に備えようとデータ分析に協力しました。

 

第4波までに同保健所が対応した約3000件の陽性者の基本情報、クラスターの発生状況、在宅療養中の往診、訪問看護の実態等を分析。西宮市保健所では感染者増で入院ベッドの確保が困難な中、在宅療養者への支援を行っており、こうした状況も踏まえて検証した結果、医師の往診や訪問看護、必要な薬剤の受け渡しの体制が整うことで、適切な支援と治療に速やかに移行できることが明らかになりました。

 

検証報告会は8月2日、4人の教員が参加して西宮市役所で行われ、市側と今後の課題等を話しあいました。寶田学科長は「このような分析に参加することは教員にとって新型コロナウイルス感染症対策の現状を学ぶ機会になります。西宮市にある大学として、今後も必要に応じ、協力していきます」と話しています。

 

Four professors from the Faculty of Nursing participated in investigation of Covid-19 infection data. They worked with the health center of Nishinomiya city to examine the statistics of all those who tested positive of the virus.

 

The four participants from Mukogawa Women’s University were Professor Minori Takarada, the department dean, Professor Kyoko Izumi, Professor Atsuko Tokushige and Professor Yukiko Kanaya.

 

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the city of Nishinomiya has faced 4^th wave of spread in the infection of Covid-19. It is said that the 5^th wave is approaching. Ever since the peak of the 4^th wave back in May this year, the nursing faculty members have been in aid and support of the health center at Nishinomiya city with immense rise in number of cases of the infected. Upon the decline of the cases in June, they were able to come together to plan and prepare for what may occur in the future.

 

They looked into variants of records for over 3000 cases of people testing positive, recognizing the clustered regions, figures of home visits from day care nurses and the conditions of the patients and nurses on call. They were then able to verify the needs and requirements of proceedings as to what measures were necessary to be applied.

 

The meeting session between the city hall members of Nishinomiya and the team of faculty members were taken place on August 2^nd at the Nishinomiya city hall board room. Prof, dean Takarada stated “It has been crucial for us to be involved in such development in crisis as it has given us an opportunity to learn too. It’s also imperative for us to work together harmoniously since Mukogawa Women’s University resides in the city of Nishinomiya.”
