＜日本語/English＞　英語チャレンジコースの第一学期が間もなく終了します。

First term classes coming to a close at General Education’s Challenge Course.

At Mukogawa Women’s University, General Education courses are offered as part of the curriculum to strengthen the development of student learning. The course provides communicative classes for 2^nd to 4^th year students with selective number of students per class, all catered for interactive learning. The objective of the course is centered towards improvement of English ability, fundamental communication skills and social awareness and development for the future.

 

The students are monitored throughout their learning on 6 key criteria, motivation, contribution, reliability, potential, communication and development.

 

Every Monday, all 3 classes are taught simultaneously in classrooms next to one and another, making it inviting for students to interact with each other across grades.  July 25^th saw the end to the first term classes, with one class making presentations in front of their peers and professor. The students are assigned topics of their choice to present and to provide a question of thought for the listeners on how they feel and create a space for discussion.

 

This year celebrates 9^th year of Challenge Course since its establishment. The course carries its legacy of empowering students with the tools and skills that they can carry through to their adulthood.

 

英語チャレンジコースは英語を使って活躍できる人材を育てることを目的に共通教育科目の一つとして開講。高い英語力を持つ２年～4年生の選抜メンバーを対象に、双方向の学びを展開しています。英語能力を高めるとともに、基礎的なコミュニケーション能力を伸ばし、社会人としての意識の向上を目指しています。

 

学生たちの学びは意欲、貢献、信頼性、潜在能力、コミュニケーション、そして成長という6つの基準で評価されます。

 

毎週月曜は同時開講している３つのクラスがクラス編成を越えて交流し、相互に学びます。一学期の最後の授業となった7月25日、学生たちは仲間や教授の前で自身で選んだトピックスについてプレゼンテーションを行い、それについてどう感じたか、課題を提起して議論しました。

 

英語チャレンジコースは今年で開講9年目。多くの学生が高い英語能力を身に付けて巣立っています。
