＜日本語/English＞MEC（英語文化学科ボランティア団体）がコロワ甲子園でSDGsに関する展示を行いました。

MEC (a volunteer organization of the Department of English Language and Culture) held an exhibition on the SDGs at Korowa Koshien.

MEC（Mukogawa English Community）は、2006年に結成された、英語文化学科を中心とした武庫女生から構成されるボランティア団体です。2023年1月5日から7日に「今日から始めよう！武庫女生と学ぶSDGs〜プラスチックごみのゆくえ〜」と題する展示を「コロワ甲子園」で行いました。

 

SDGsとは国連で制定されたSustainable Development Goalsの略で、17のGoalがあります。日本語では「持続可能な開発目標」と言い、2030年までに加盟国は協力して目標を達成しようとしています。

 

展示は、多鹿希輝さん（日本語日本文学科1年）、前澤佑芽さん（英語文化学科2年）、山村さつきさん（英語文化学科3年）を中心に準備が進められました。多鹿さんの「ペットボトルのキャップをリサイクルすれば（ポリオ）ワクチンに変えることができる。武庫川女子大学ではどのようにリサイクルの取り組みがなされているのだろう」という問題意識から、3人はプラスチックごみの削減に着目した展示を行うことを決めました。数ヶ月の間、会場との交渉から展示の作成までを全て自らの手で進めました。

 

展示では、海洋、兵庫県西宮市、そして武庫川女子大学におけるゴミ事情を調査、報告し、一人ひとりができることを分かりやすく解説しました。前澤さんは「プラスチックごみは毎日発生します。今回の展示がリサイクルを取り入れてくれるきっかけとなれば」と語っています。

 

MEC (Mukogawa English Community) is a volunteer organization formed in 2006 by Mukogawa students mainly from the Department of English Language and Culture. The exhibition that promotes SDGs with Mukogawa students: “The Future of Plastic Waste" at Korowa Koshien from January 5 to 7, 2023.

 

SDGs stands for Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations, and there are 17 Goals. In Japanese, they are called "Sustainable Development Goals," and member states of the UN are working together to achieve them by 2030.

 

In the exhibit, the students investigated and reported on the trash situation in the ocean, in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, and at Mukogawa Women's University, and explained what each of us can do to help in an easy-to-understand manner. Ms. Maezawa (2^nd year student, Department of English Language and Culture) said, "Plastic waste is generated every day. I hope this exhibition will encourage people to recycle.”
