健康生命薬科学科4年の梅田沙希さんが、日本薬学会第144年会で学生優秀発表賞を受賞しました。

本学健康生命薬科学科4年（発表時）の梅田沙希さんが、3月28日~31日にパシフィコ横浜で開催された日本薬学会第144年会ポスター発表の部門において、学生優秀発表賞を受賞しました。

 

梅田さんの発表演題は、「スダチ果皮由来ポリメトキシフラボン類スダチチンのラット心房筋における変時作用および変力作用」です。柑橘類のスダチに特有の成分であるスダチチンに着目し、心臓に対する基本的な機能を検討した結果、その作用メカニズムをはじめて解明しました。

 

梅田さんは、卒業研究で食品機能科学研究室（指導教員：野口和雄教授）に所属し、「健康をサポートする新規食品成分を見つけ、健康寿命の延伸につなげる」という研究室の目標達成に向け、心保護作用や降圧作用を持つ新規食品成分の探索および作用機序の解明に取り組みました。現在は本学大学院薬科学専攻（修士課程）に進学し、スダチチンをはじめとする様々なポリメトキシフラボン類が心臓におよぼす機能を検討しています。これらの構造活性相関を考察することで、心循環器系に作用する新しい治療薬（創薬）のヒントを得ることを目指して研究を続けており、研究者としてのさらなる成長が期待されます。

 

本賞は、厳正な審査の結果、将来の発展が期待される研究発表をした学生に対して贈られます。今回は、熱意にあふれ、わかりやすいこと、学術上注目すべき、将来が期待できる研究内容であったことが評価されました。

Saki Umeda, a senior (at the time of presentation) in the Department of Health and Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences, received the Student Presentation Award in the Poster Presentation category at the 144th Annual Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan held at Pacifico Yokohama from March 28 to 31, 2012.

The title of Ms. Umeda's presentation was "Modulation and potentiating effects of Sudachitin, a polymethoxy flavone derived from sudachi peel, in rat atrial muscle." She focused on sudachi, a component unique to the citrus fruit sudachi, and investigated its basic functions on the heart, and elucidated its mechanism of action for the first time.

This award is given to students who, after rigorous screening, present research that shows promise for future development.
