第１回サイエンス・コモンズセミナーで本学食物栄養学科の前田晃宏講師がレクチャーを行いました。

第1回サイエンス・コモンズセミナー「ゼロから始める尺度開発と妥当性」が６月19日に中央キャンパス研究所棟１階サイエンス・コモンズで開催され、本学教職員をはじめ、大学院生や学外から対面とオンラインで計20人が参加しました。

 

本学は令和5年度文部科学省科学技術人材育成費補助事業ダイバーシティ研究環境実現イニシアティブ(女性リーダー育成型)に選定され、女性研究者の育成や支援に力を入れています。「サイエンス・コモンズセミナー」はその取り組みの一つとして、様々な分野の研究者同士の交流や分野架橋の共同研究につながることを目指しています。

 

第１回セミナーでは、高橋享子副学長が当セミナーの意義について述べた後、本学食物栄養学科の前田晃宏講師が「ゼロから始める尺度開発と妥当性」と題し、心理尺度のレクチャーを行いました。

 

レクチャーで前田講師は、心理尺度とは抽象的な概念を定量化するための「物差し」であることや、尺度開発における信頼性・妥当性の重要性について解説しました。読書がどれくらい好きかを調査する心理尺度作成の疑似体験ワークを通じて尺度開発への理解を深めた参加者からは「尺度を使う上での注意点や、尺度開発についてとても勉強になりました」「研究者ではありませんが、先生方がどのように研究を進められているのかを知ることができて良かったです」との声もあがり、研究に対する理解が深まる場となりました。

 

The 1st Science Commons Seminar "Scale Development and Validity Starting from Zero" was held on June 19th at the Science Commons on the 1st floor of the Research Institute Building on the central campus, with a total of 20 participants, including the faculty and staff, graduate students and external participants in person and online.

The University was selected as a recipient of the 2023 Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's Grant-in-Aid for Human Resource Development in Science and Technology for the Initiative for Realization of a Diversity Research Environment (Female Leader Development Style), and is making efforts to foster and support female researchers. The "Science Commons Seminar" is one such initiative, which aims to promote exchanges among researchers in various fields and to bridge the gap between fields through joint research.

In the first seminar, Vice President Kyoko Takahashi explained the significance of the seminar, followed by a lecture on psychological scales by Akihiro Maeda, a lecturer in the Department of Food and Nutrition, titled "Scale Development and Validity Starting from Zero.

In his lecture, Dr. Maeda explained that a psychological scale is a “measurement” to quantify abstract concepts, and the importance of reliability and validity in scale development. Participants who deepened their understanding of scale development through a simulated work experience of creating a psychological scale to investigate how much they like to read said, "I learned a lot about the points to keep in mind when using scales and about scale development. It was a good opportunity to deepen our understanding of research."
