薬学科の吉田研究室が、附属高校生を対象に性教育と薬育研究を実施しました。

薬学部薬学科臨床製剤学研究室（吉田都教授）が1月16日、本学附属高校の生徒を対象に、性教育と薬育をフュージョンした「性＋薬育研究」を行いました。

 

臨床製剤学研究室では、薬物乱用が低年齢化していることや緊急避妊薬のスイッチOTC化を国が推進している社会的状況を踏まえ、各年齢層に応じた薬育の必要性を提唱しています。吉田教授は、緊急避妊薬を処方箋なしで薬局で買える「OTC医薬品」とすることに対し、「充分な性の知識を習得しないままに、女性の緊急避妊薬の入手が簡単になるのは、女性にとって危険な可能性があるのではないか」と危惧。薬局薬剤師の経験を持つ林紗希助手から「実際に薬局に緊急避妊薬を求めてきた若い女性の性や薬に対する知識の乏しさに不安を感じた」という意見を聞き、「性＋薬育研究」をスタートしました。薬学科の原史子助手も共同研究者として参画しています。

 

附属高校での「性＋薬育研究」のタイトルは「自分らしく生きるために～生と性のおはなし～」。まず、高校生に向けて「薬育とは、子供のうちから薬の効果や副作用、正しい使い方などを学ぶこと」と説明。近年、オーバードーズなどの薬物乱用が低年齢化していることから「薬についての正しい知識を身につけて」と呼び掛けました。さらに「女性としての性についても正しく理解して自分らしく生きてほしい」と言い、基礎体温計の使い方や、排卵・妊娠では女性の身体はどういう状態になっているかなどを話しました。

 

生徒たちは初めは戸惑った様子でしたが徐々に聞き入り、妊娠検査薬・排卵日予測検査薬をホルモン溶液に浸ける実演では、真剣な表情で見入っていました。講義後には「男子にも性について知って欲しい」「性＋薬育を受けられる学校は少ないので、色々なところで実施してほしい」という意見が寄せられました。

 

吉田教授は「附属中学校・高等学校を有する武庫川女子大学だからこそできる連携研究活動です。若い女性が自分の性をしっかりと理解して、将来、危険から身を守るとともに性に関わる薬を正しく使用し、自分らしい人生を過ごせるきっかけになれば」と話しています。

 

On January 16th, the Clinical Pharmaceutical Science Laboratory (Professor Miyako Yoshida) at the School of Pharmacy conducted a "Sex + Pharmaceutical Education Research" program for students at the Mukogawa Women’s University High school.

 

Recognizing the increasing prevalence of drug abuse among young people and the government's push to allow over-the-counter sales of emergency contraception, the Clinical Pharmaceutical Science Laboratory has been advocating for pharmaceutical education tailored to different age groups. Professor Yoshida expressed concerns about the potential dangers for women if emergency contraception became easily accessible without sufficient sexual knowledge. Assistant Professor Saki Hayashi, who has experience as a pharmacist, shared her concerns about the lack of sexual and drug knowledge among young women who came to the pharmacy seeking emergency contraception, which led to the initiation of the "Sex + Pharmaceutical Education Research" project.

 

The title of the "Sex + Pharmaceutical Education Research" program at the high school was "Living Your Life to the Fullest: A Story About Life and Sexuality." The students were first introduced to the concept of pharmaceutical education, explaining that it involved learning about the effects, side effects, and correct usage of drugs from a young age. Given the recent trend of drug abuse among younger generations, the students were urged to acquire accurate knowledge about drugs.

 

Professor Yoshida commented, "This collaborative research activity is possible because Mukogawa Women's University has an affiliated junior and senior high school. I hope that young women can develop a deep understanding of their sexuality, protect themselves from harm in the future, use drugs related to sex correctly, and live their lives to the fullest."
