全国の中高生が探究学習の成果を競う「クエストカップ2025全国大会」で環境共生学部学部長の青野光子教授と、村田成範教授が審査委員を務めました。

全国の中高生が探究学習の成果を競う「クエストカップ2025全国大会」(主催：株式会社教育と探求社／クエストカップ実行委員会)が2月の3日間、法政大学市ケ谷キャンパス（一部オンライン）で開催され、環境共生学部学部長就任予定の青野光子教授と、村田成範教授が審査委員を務めました。

 

同大会は探究学習を通して、中高生が現実社会と連動しながら「生きる力」を育む独自の探究学習プログラム「クエストエデュケーション」を設定。ワークブックや動画教材で先生をサポートしながらカリキュラムを設計し、フィードバックしながら生徒の探究を深めます。2022年から高校の「総合的な探究の時間」が必修化されたことで年々参加は増えており、今年は33都道府県から5,600チームの応募がありました。

 

「クエストカップ2025全国大会」は生徒たちが1年の成果を発表する大会で、今年で20回目。「企業探究」「進路探究」「起業家」「社会課題探究」「地域探究」の5部門計8プログラムで、選出された152校286チームが出場しました。関西からは過去最多となる40校79チームが出場しました。

 

高校生たちはそれぞれのプログラムに分かれ、審査委員の前でチームごとにプレゼンテーション。このうち、「起業家」部門の「スモールスタート」プログラムは2月23日に行われました。日常生活から新商品のタネを発見するアントレプレナーシップ探究教育で、10チームが発表。審査委員を務めた本学環境共生学部学部の青野学部長と村田教授は、「食べられる保冷剤」について探究発表した千葉県立東葛飾高等学校の「おかしんパラダイス」に「ブラックスワン賞」を授与。トロフィーと賞状を手渡しました。副賞には環境共生学部のクリアファイルとラビーのぬいぐるみが贈られ、高校生たちは「可愛い！」とうれしそうな声を挙げていました。

 

青野学部長は「クエストカップのスモールスタート部門は、実生活での気づきや必要性から着想を得て工夫した、とても面白い商品アイデアばかりで『地球がよろこぶ明日をつくる』をスローガンとする環境共生学部とも、とても相性のよい取り組みだと感じられました」、村田教授は「磨けば社会に役立つ可能性を秘めた発表が多く、手応えを感じました」と、それぞれ中高生の発想力と探究力を評価しました。

 

村田教授は3月9日、桃山学院大学で開催されるクエストカップの関連イベント「QUEST HEROES 2025」にも参加予定。関西の中学校・高等学校計16校、約200名が出場します。

 

The "Quest Cup 2025 National Tournament," where junior and senior high school students nationwide compete in the results of their Research Based Learning, was held over three days in February at Hosei University's Ichigaya Campus (partially online). Professor Mitsuko Aono, who is scheduled to assume the position of Dean of the School of Environment and Sustainability, and Professor Shigenori Murata served as judges.

 

The tournament features a unique program, "Quest Education," which fosters life skills in junior and senior high school students by linking them with real life inquiry-based learning within the society. The curriculum is designed with the support of teachers using workbooks and video materials, and students' inquiries are deepened through feedback. With the compulsory introduction of "Comprehensive Inquiry Time" in high schools in 2022, participation has increased year by year, and this year there were 5,600 team applications from 33 prefectures.

 

The "Quest Cup 2025 National Tournament" is a competition where students present the results of their years’ worth of work, and this year marked its 20th edition. A total of 286 teams from 152 schools participated in eight programs across five categories: "Corporate Inquiry," "Career Path Inquiry," "Entrepreneur," "Social Issue Inquiry," and "Regional Inquiry." A record number of 79 teams from 40 schools in the Kansai region participated.

 

Dean Aono commented, "The Small Start category of the Quest Cup featured many very interesting product ideas that were conceived and devised from real-life observations and needs, and I felt that it was a very compatible initiative with the School of Environment and Sustainability, which has the slogan 'Creating a tomorrow that pleases the Earth.'" Professor Murata said, "There were many presentations with the potential to be useful to society if honed, and I felt a sense of accomplishment." Both professors praised the creativity and inquiry skills of the junior and senior high school students.
